Much TODO About Emails by Russell Wong

Hello, faithful followers!

In my last post, I committed myself to writing a new post when I published my chore email program. Well, you can find the published script on my GitHub repository and you could have found it up to a few weeks ago. I haven't written a post for it because (how do I put this) it's a terribly shameful piece of code. After finishing it and feeling the pride of watching it do exactly what I intended it to, I looked back at the mangled logic and poor comments and confusing structure and then every good habit I'd learned in school and industry came back. I have a lot of new goals for how to polish what I have and improve the UI and I'm telling you all of this to keep me honest and accountable.

Goals for next chore emailer release:
1. Define list sorters and assigners as individual functions
2. Implement a UI to gather email and password
3. Ask a friend with experience to read and critique my code

In canine news, Mouse and I are celebrating our fourth month together! We are still adjusting to each other and I've enrolled us in dog training school. Mouse spent the first class in a separate room from the other dogs because new dogs are still difficult for him to deal with. Mouse's reactivity is nothing new to me, and every encounter like this makes me wonder what his previous owner was doing with him. We can only take it a day at a time and I'll be sure to include his progress in the next post. Until then, thanks for reading!
